Calcium Zinc Stabilizer

Calcium-zinc stabilizers primarily appear as white powder, flakes, or paste. Powdered calcium-zinc stabilizers are the most widely used non-toxic PVC stabilizers, commonly applied in food packaging, medical devices, wire and cable materials, among others. Currently, domestically produced PVC calcium-zinc stabilizers suitable for rigid pipes have emerged.

The thermal stability of powdered calcium-zinc stabilizers is inferior to that of lead salts. They possess inherent lubricity, poor transparency, and are prone to blooming. To enhance their stability and transparency, antioxidants such as hindered phenols, polyols, phosphites, and β-diketones are often added for improvement.

The two major systems of calcium-zinc stabilizers are primarily divided into hydrotalcite systems and zeolite systems.

The prices of powdered calcium-zinc stabilizers vary widely, with no standardized national regulations to govern them.
